Go Daughter Go!
Hi! My name is Skylar Fiebrich! I am the daughter of Georgia Fiebrich, the owner of Go Mama Go Designs, and recently I have begun working here. Although my mom’s company has always been a big part of my life, these past few weeks I have truly been integrated and a part of the workforce that is Go Mama Go. Getting to see firsthand what a workday feels like as my mom has helped me understand why she is the way is in regards to being my boss, my parent, and overall my best friend.
The industry of baby bedding and improving a child’s night of sleep has, not surprisingly, never peaked my interest, but I have begun to understand that there is so much more to a company than the product that winds up in a cardboard box at the footsteps of someone’s front door. There is so much value to be found in putting in hard work day in and day out which is something that I plan on carrying into my own life and a goal I will strive towards constantly. It is truly admirable to look at my mom with more of an understanding of all that she does. This way I can bring more empathy to our relationship and be proud of the woman that raised me.
Growing up was definitely a different experience compared to some of my friends especially in elementary school when there was always an expectation of a parent going with you on a class field trip or reading to your class in the library. Because both of my parents worked, I never exactly had those experiences, but now looking back, that seems less important and I would not change how I grew up for the world. I love knowing that there is a source of fulfillment in my parents’ lives besides raising my brother and me. That feeling also comes with a sigh of relief because I know that when I move out and start my journey of accomplishing my goals and fighting my own battles, my parents will be okay. Freedom has always been cherished in my family as well as finding your passion and trying new things; and because of this mindset I feel so supported and encouraged to begin doing these things on my own.
I am excited to work at Go Mama Go, to learn the ins and outs of the baby business, but more importantly to make my mom proud and show her that every decision she has made in regards to me has been the right one.
